Arnotts might be Dublin’s oldest department store but it’s by no means behind the times. When it comes to selling technology they’ve all the latest gadgets and it was our job to light up the retail space and get the customer’s eye focused on the merchandise.
We took advantage of architectural details when positioning low-energy LED and metal halide fixtures – they’re discreet, effective and add feature. Cove lighting around the edge of the department created ambient illumination with plenty of focus on perimeter displays, and track-mounted accent lighting was placed throughout the mid-floors.
Working to a tight budget, the architectural lighting design shows that good interior lighting doesn’t have to be expensive to make an impact or be energy efficient: the lighting solution achieves a total energy consumption of 20W/m2.
