Nulty's round-up of the design festival
Last week was a blur of excitement in London as the capital celebrated the annual design festival, Clerkenwell Design Week. As a team we’ve become seasoned veterans of this not-to-be-missed event, however this year was even more special as we were taking part.
Throughout the week our lighting designers Claire Hamill and Anna Sandgren hosted a series of lighting workshops. They presented research in applied lighting, along with educational workshops for interior designers and architects to help them understand how light can be used to benefit the design of a space and engage its users. They enabled visitors to experiment with different LED light sources, showing them how light can be an important tool in story telling, creating an atmosphere and making people feel good in their surroundings.
There were no empty seats on Wednesday evening as our very own Paul Nulty hosted a drinks reception and CPD at the TOTO gallery on St John Street. Paul presented his CPD “Painting with light” to an audience of designers and architects. The informative talk covered the key requirements of a lighting design solution, how to compose a lighting scheme and work with layers of illumination.
The team popped in and out of the festival throughout the week and here’s a snippet of some of our favourite events and exhibits in the gallery below:
