A charming relic in the press
Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in the early 1920s, 27 Poultry in the City of London has been through a major transformation – from grand banking HQ to luxury hotel and members’ club.
Covering 29,450 square metres there are bedrooms galore, the former vault (of Goldfinger fame) is now a bar and the one-time banking hall a food emporium. Up on the roof there’s a pool, terraces and impressive views across town.
Our lighting design scheme for the Square Mile’s new, elegant resident works to highlight the building’s iconic architectural trademarks and complement the different areas, while keeping a consistent design look and feel throughout. And, by using some of the newest lighting considerations and a thoughtful design process, we’ve helped restore this architectural masterpiece.
