L’Occitane has opened a new flagship store on Regent Street where customers can immerse themselves in and discover the popular French beauty and skincare brand. The architectural lighting scheme helps shoppers navigate a journey of the senses, as they pass through the “sunny” new store, which is spread over two floors and divided into different areas.
Using layers of light in our design was key to its success. The ceiling is clean and uncluttered with carefully positioned downlights that highlight products, and perimeter joinery displays wrap the external walls and feature integrated luminaires for an extra layer of contrast. In keeping with the brand’s natural ethos, floral displays surround columns and are illuminated by miniature downlights that bring the installations to “life”.
To complement the naturally warm interior palette we chose LEDs with a high CRI – they bring out the true colours of the materials and help emulate the “golden hour” of light.
