Arjun’s believes that designing a lighting scheme is like drawing on architecture – phrasing that echoes his love of sketching. From scribbling on the walls as a child, to doodling in his notebooks as an adult, Arjun has always loved to draw, it’s how he finds calm and composure after a busy week.
Light is a living form of energy for Arjun – when lighting, structure and space are combined, new dimensions are created for users to interact with. He believes that as lighting designers, it’s our job to ‘draw out the narrative of architecture,’ otherwise magnificent buildings can be as good as invisible.
Arjun loves football, his favourite team is Manchester United and plays every weekend. Its just him and the ball, until his friends come in for a tackle, and that’s how he approaches lighting design, it’s just him and his sketches, until a helpful colleague comes along!
