The skies the limit for Esra, at least that’s what her Dad taught her. Despite wanting to be flight attendant as a child, Esra flew towards a path of light, studying architecture at Khartoum University, to then finding her first job as a lighting designer once she graduated.
Esra likes all things crafty, with crocheting being her latest interest. And of course, like any good lighting designer, she has brought her hobby back to her profession and in her spare time makes decorative luminaries inspired by Sudense basket crafts made from re-purposed raffia plates and yarn.
Light is something you can see but can’t touch and yet, it has the ability to create feeling and emotion unlike anything else – Esra finds light magical, it has shaped her path in life and is why architectural lighting is her passion.
