As Design Director, Gil leads with experience, creativity and a sharp eye for detail. He oversees design concepts, guides project delivery, and mentors the team to ensure every outcome lives up to Nulty’s high standards. With over 17 years in the lighting industry, Gil’s worn many hats—consultant, contractor, supplier, technician—and brings a well-rounded perspective to every project.
Originally trained in industrial design, Gil found his way into lighting through theatre work with his brother, where he saw first-hand how powerful light could be in shaping mood and storytelling. That curiosity led him to formally study lighting design—and he’s been hooked ever since.
Gil is known for his deep technical knowledge, especially when it comes to fixtures, construction, and on-site challenges. He’s also passionate about helping younger designers grow, sharing both insights and anecdotes from his career.
Beyond work, Gil’s a keen cook with a particular passion for meat—earning him the nickname “Meat Master” among friends and family. He’s also into CrossFit, Hyrox training, and a bit of biohacking on the side. With time spent living across Europe and Asia, Gil brings a global mindset and a lot of great stories to the team.
