Jwala brings a unique perspective to the world of lighting design, combining her background in architecture with a passion for transforming spaces through thoughtful illumination. She thrives in finding solutions that balance aesthetics and functionality while ensuring buildability and construction feasibility.
After completing her bachelor’s degree in architecture, Jwala gained valuable experience working as an architect and interior designer for two years, followed by a year specialising in lighting design. Her interest in lighting grew from observing buildings throughout the day and night; she became fascinated by how lighting can drastically alter the perception and functionality of a space, which sparked her desire to explore the field further.
Jwala’s favourite part of her job is conceptualising ideas and building models that bring those concepts to life. She is known for her keen eye for detail and her ability to create immersive experiences that use light to create emotional depth.
Her dream project would involve preserving the cultural heritage of her hometown, Mysuru, by using lighting to restore its lost glory. Additionally, Jwala envisions designing an art museum where every form of art, from paintings to installations, is celebrated through the careful interplay of light and shadow.
