Marina moved to London three years ago from Rio Grande do Sul in the south of Brazil. She left warmer climes and the South American sunshine for a career in Lighting Design in London.
During her initial studies in architecture, Marina began to learn about how light influences us as humans and can impact our well-being and day-to-day interactions. She branched out to research lighting in hospitals and its effect on our circadian rhythms and from there, her interest peaked. Marina changed career path and now loves how her work with light creates better environments for us all to live in.
Marina’s early years have also had an influence, having spent her childhood on her grandparents’ farm, she places importance on connecting with nature. She builds her life around protecting the environment and subsequently applies this thinking to her work here at Nulty.
