When it comes to lighting design, Motheo is methodical and mathematical. Something that isn’t surprising when you find out he has a background in engineering.
Motheo can be relied upon to bring precision to his work. He finds it exciting to consider environmental factors, to work collaboratively and most importantly, to create imaginative, engaging works of art. Motheo’s dream project to work on, Roden Crater, speaks to each of these characteristics, which makes sense considering how the project emphasises the relationship and interplay between natural light, time and landscape.
Even though Motheo isn’t the chef he dreamed of being as a child, his ability to carefully measure and combine the ingredients needed to design a creative and beautiful lighting scheme is first-rate. And thankfully so, seeing as he is a self-proclaimed average cook, it sounds like he chose the right career path.
